Mountain pose is one of the best yoga poses for beginners as it is simple sitting asana that forms the basis for all the other standing asana. The term Tadasana is a combination of the words “tada” (the Sanskrit word for mountain) and “asana”(meaning posture). Mountain Pose is the standing equivalent to child’s pose. It helps you return to calm center before moving on soother poses, or asanas.It is a key asana for all yoga practices.

How To Do:
Stand straight with your feet together.If you are new to yoga, try to keep your feet hip distance apart and let the arms hang relaxed at your sides.
Slowly lift your toes and place them back on the floor.
Pull up your kneecaps and squeeze the thighs.
Inhale and lift up from your waist.
Breathe and hold for 4 to 8 breaths.
Exhale and drop the shoulders down.
